About Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a type of alternative therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears. These points are believed to correspond to different organs and systems in the body. The idea is that stimulating these reflex points can promote healing, improve circulation, reduce stress, and restore balance to the body’s energy.
In practice, a reflexologist uses thumb, finger, and hand techniques to massage and press these areas. Many people find reflexology relaxing and say it helps with things like pain relief, anxiety, and general wellbeing.
History of Reflexology
Reflexology has ancient roots in Egypt, China, and India, where early forms of foot and hand therapy were practiced. The modern method began in the early 1900s with Dr. William Fitzgerald’s “zone therapy” and was further developed by Eunice Ingham, who mapped reflex points to organs and systems in the body. This approach has been refined over many years, with detailed maps showing the connection between reflex points and body parts. Although research on reflexology is ongoing, many studies highlight the benefits of therapeutic touch in reducing stress, promoting relaxation, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
Adaptive Integrative Reflexology
Chronic stress can quietly affect your brain, nervous system, hormones, and immune function, the 4 key systems that keep you feeling balanced and well. Adaptive Integrated Reflexology is a specialized technique I offer to help counteract these effects and support your body’s natural healing process.
By gently stimulating specific reflex points on both feet at the same time, this method encourages deep relaxation, calms the nervous system, and helps restore harmony throughout the body. It works in sync with your body’s own rhythms, enhancing resilience, and improving emotional well-being.
Adding this focused approach to your session brings a deeper level of care, supporting long-term wellness and helping you feel more grounded, clear, and restored.
Precision Reflexology
Precision Reflexology is a refined approach to traditional reflexology that emphasizes the energetic connection between practitioner and client. Developed in the UK by Jan Williamson, this technique enhances healing by focusing not just on physical reflex points, but also on the subtle energy pathways of the body. It involves gentle, focused touch combined with an awareness of the body's energy flow.
This method encourages deep relaxation, reduces stress, and supports overall balance in the body. Clients often experience not only physical relief but also emotional clarity and improved energy levels. Because it uses a gentle and precise technique, it's especially effective for those who are sensitive or dealing with chronic conditions.
By integrating both physical and energetic awareness, Precision Reflexology offers a more holistic and personalized healing experience. It stands out from standard reflexology by fostering a deeper connection and responsiveness during treatment, enhancing the body’s natural ability to restore itself.
Hot and Cold Stone Reflexology
Experience the Ultimate Balance
In my Hot Stone Reflexology sessions, I use the soothing warmth of heated stones to help your body return to a state of harmony. The heat allows the reflexology to penetrate up to seven times deeper
than traditional methods, easing chronic tension, supporting circulation, and helping to balance the immune system naturally.
During the warmer summer months, I bring in the refreshing coolness of cold stones to provide a calming effect. This gentle contrast in temperature helps reduce inflammation, revitalize tired feet, and awaken your body’s natural healing energy, especially when your system feels overloaded or out of sync.
Reflexology for Hormonal Health & Balance
Hormonal imbalances can affect anyone at any stage of life, from puberty and fertility to menopause and andropause (male hormonal changes). Reflexology works by stimulating specific pressure points on the feet that correspond to the endocrine system, helping to gently support natural hormone regulation and overall balance.
For women, reflexology can be especially helpful during premenstrual cycles, pregnancy, perimenopause, and post-menopause. It may ease symptoms such as mood swings, fatigue, hot flashes, irregular periods, and sleep disturbances. For men, sessions can help with hormone-related concerns like low energy, stress, emotional imbalance, and adrenal fatigue.
Teenagers also benefit from reflexology as they adjust to puberty and its emotional and physical changes. Many young clients report feeling more relaxed, centred, and supported through their hormonal development.
Each session is tailored to your individual needs and life stage. If you're looking for a natural, calming way to support your hormonal health, reflexology offers a safe and restorative option.

Reflexology for Life limiting, Palliative and Chronic Illnesses
Living with a chronic illness, a life-limiting condition, or receiving palliative care can bring many emotional and physical challenges. Reflexology offers gentle, non-invasive support that focuses on comfort, relaxation, and a greater sense of well-being.
Reflexology may help reduce stress and anxiety, promote deeper relaxation, and create a calming space to rest and reset. Many clients find it eases feelings of fatigue, nausea, and discomfort, especially during treatment or when managing ongoing symptoms. It can also support better sleep and ease restlessness, offering a sense of calm when it’s needed most.
For those receiving palliative care, reflexology can be a comforting and grounding experience, for both the individual and their Carers. It provides emotional support, encourages connection, and brings moments of peace at a deeply personal time.
